The Federal Sentencing Guidelines recommended a sentence of 22–27 years in prison. The client was responsible for trafficking almost 19 kilograms of amphetamine, thus earning a baseline offense level of 38. After a lengthy hearing, I was able to convince the judge to depart downward from the guideline recommendation and sentence my client to 15 years in prison. Keep in mind that every case is different.
